KANYE?! What is you doin Kanye? Last night at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA’s) Kanye West felt obliged to let the world know that he felt Beyonce’s Single Ladies video was the best video of all time… Unfortunately he got that urge right in the middle of Taylor Swifts acceptance speech for winning best female video over Beyonce. For the rest of the night, when the name Kanye was mentioned, all you could hear was boos from the audience.

Minutes later the world responded to Kanye West via twitter, youtube, and all other major forms of social networking. Kanye pissed off the vast majority of his fans. Katy Perry went from hot to cold and tweeted “F*** you Kanye, it’s like you stepped on a kitten”. Pink let her twitter fans know that “Kanye West is the biggest piece of s*** on earth”. And I don’t even want to begin quoting what some of the fans have been saying.

So how does one make up for this kind of embarrassment? Kanye West’s best attempt was to throw up an apology blog on his website… At least he told the world he is sorry for what he did. But I think the true champion of the evening was Beyonce. After winning Video of the year (but somehow lost best female video… but anyway) Beyonce turned over her acceptance speech time to Taylor saying that when she was 17 getting an award for Destiny’s Child it was one of her greatest moments, and she wanted Taylor to have hers… I love you Beyonce, especially now after that great display of class, you are a good woman.

Ye’ I love your music, you are one of the most energetic and creative lyricists that I have on my ipod… But damn if you dont act a fool whenever everyone is looking.

I Am T-Pain?!

I am back. It’s been a while I know but too many things happened that I didnt get to talk about so no longer could I hide from my keyboard. In other news though, T-Pain has released his own iPhone App called I Am T-Pain. This application lets anyone talk into their iPhone and sound just like T-Pain. The Nappy Boy himself has made it that much easier for two bit rap artists to make platinum records. Following in the example of T-Pain, Coca-Cola will is working on a tutorial video for making Coca-Cola at home. Is this a career suicide attempt?

Haha, regardless the video is a bit funny and you should check out the app. The novelty value alone is worth the download.

Chris Brown Apologizes for Beating Rihanna Video

In what appears to be his first public statement acknowledging and accepting the blame for his “miss treatment” pun intended, Chris Brown releases a video blog on his website explaining and apologizing for his actions. If you are unfamiliar with the happenings, Chris was arrested for beating Rihanna in his car as she accused him of foul play and began assaulting him. I am glad that Chris is making amends for what happened and hope that he can rehabilitate his image and career. Here’s what he had to say…

iMotorboat?!

Well, since I spend a lot of time browsing the iTunes store, every now and then I come across some good products. Mostly I look for games and finance applications but today I found out about a hilarious new iPhone app called iMotorboat. This application looks like its the next iFart. The app supplies you with a beautiful bust picture to place your nose upon. You then proceed to motorboat. The coolest part is, you can use the camera feature to capture new images to use as your background. I laughed at the name and icon alone and already knew everything I needed to know about the app. I’m not reviewing it, just spreading the word. Check it out yall.

Michael Jackson R.I.P.

Gone too soon

On June 25th 2009, Michael Jackson went into cardiac arrest before slipping into a coma. He was pronounced dead at 3:15 pm. This is a sad day for the entire world.

Michael Jackson is my favorite musician and I am deeply hurt to know that we are without him now. My condolences to the Jackson family, I pray for you all in a time of unmeasurable loss.

In loving memory of Michael, I will be playing my favorite Michael Jackson songs wherever I go in hopes to help people remember why he was so great. His music is timeless and will never die.

iPhone 3G S Out Today!

 

We have your phone Mr. Bond

At 7:00 am this morning, consumers got to purchase their iPhone 3G S. The long awaited update to the iPhone platform gives us what we have always been waiting for, text messaging with photos, videos, audios and all the other o’s that Apple forgot to put in the original iPhone and iPhone 3g. How can you make a phone without the ability to text photo’s and funny gifs to your friends? Those of you who are eligable for an upgrade are probably enjoying your sleek new iPhone 3G S right now. Many of you probably had to pay full price, but you too are in celebration of a new phone.

There are other features the new iPhone 3G S brings to the table. A better processessor, new graphics capability, faster data and internet navigation. As an iPhone game developer, I am excited to see these new features and cant wait to get a 3G S of my own. Personally I cant wait to try the audio recording feature. I love to sing and write music, so a feature like this will come in handy when I get inspired but have no way to record my idea. You know I once had to call my voicemail and leave a message to save on of my song ideas… But I digress, the iPhone has been a staple to the Apple product lineup and comparable to the success of the iPod. People have been waiting in line since thursday afternoon to get a 3G S, so lets wait and see how the Apple stock does today.

The Hangover… and all other Overhyped Movies.

The Hangover

I just got back from The Hangover and honestly I wasn’t all that impressed. Did the movie make me laugh? Once or twice. For the past two weeks I have been hearing nothing but good reviews on this film. I was told this was the movie of 09 and it would make me laugh harder than Borat. With my diaper in hand I went into the movie theater ready for a show.

Sadly what I was treated to was a deflated guy movie full of nonsense and “dongage”. Now to be fair in my review, the rest of the crowd was in stitches for every joke and punchline. Why was it that everyone else found this movie absolutely hilarious and even clapped at the end while I was looking at my skinnier wallet wondering why I was let down so.

To answer that question I attribute it to “Overhype”. My expectations for this movie were too high almost guarenteeing that I would be let down. Every friend and associate told me this was THE MOVIE and that I would want to see it twice… Yet all I wanted was most of my money back. Honestly the funniest part to me (and quite clever might I add) was the credits.

Overhyping is a terrible thing. It ruins the credibility of many deserving products, performances or events. For example lets say you want a hamburger and you get the best hamburger ever, you will be happy. Now lets say you are told you will be served Filet Mignon, and the chef brings you out the best hamburger ever, you will be disappointed.

So just based on the audience reaction this movie would get a 5. Based on my reaction I would give it a 3. Lets meet half way and officially rate this movie a 4.

TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled

Do you remember back in the early 90′s when every kid wanted to do Karate and be a Ninja Turtle? The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been a part of male adolescent life for decades now. With over 4 different television shows devoted to the group, and hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue worldwide, how could anyone give them the foot?

You’re right, you just cant. The TNMT are back again, pun intended. In what looks like an attempt to capitalize on the revitalization of 4 player beatem’up action on the Xbox Live Arcade, we get an HD remix of TNMT: Turtles in Time. Very early 90′s arcade gaming is one of my favorite eras of gaming period. I can’t begin to tell you how many quarters I jammed into coin opps to get Maggie back from Smithers, to defeat Magneto, or to finally kill the right Shredder. That was a time when Arcade owners went to the bank with wheel barrels.

Well for people who remember those times, and are young enough to still appreciate them, you can look forward to our favorite band of brothers back again to take on the foot. TMNT Turtles in Time Re-Shelled is in development and will be out on the Xbox Live Arcade.

The Most Fun Way to Break an iPhone

I came across this video today while looking for new iPhone applications and I couldn’t resist a post. iSamurai lets you and a friend duke it out samurai style and no one gets hurt. What I like about this is it shows some great enginuity on behalf of the developer. This is probably one of the most creative ways I have seen the accelerometer used. On the down side, since the iPhone has no wrist controller like the Wii, I imagine that when kids play this game the result is a broken iPhone or two.

Adam, thank you for pointing out the obvious and I do not mean that in a bad way. We loved you and cheered for you all the way to second place, most of us already with speculation. Perhaps this confirmation is a publicity stunt or perhaps he needed to reveal the skeleton hiding in plain sight.

Regardless, I personally wish you good luck and thank you for trying your best to win, this year was one of my favorite seasons and I actually wanted you to win. I thought you had it in the bag to be honest. You were the most memorable performer every week if you ask me. But I digress. This type of thing shouldn’t be a big deal and the fact that it is makes me shake my head in shame.

I was raised Christian but I personally don’t believe that any two lovers should be refused the right to love each other. What business is it of mine who you take out to the movies on a Friday night? As long as I am happy with the person I am dating, then it is of no concern of mine who and what you do in your free time as long as you are happy and continue to be a productive citizen in society… who the hell cares?
