Season 2, Are you ready?

October 1, 2010

It’s been so long and I’ve been away. Forgive me, I was on a journey through unemployment, across states, then homeless, then somehow landing a sweet ass gig in Hollywood , CA.

It’s only right that I get back to what I think I do best… joking on people! Get ready ya’ll. LOLtv returns for its second season and this time I promise more than 4 episodes…

Zombieland!

October 6, 2009

Zombieland is the best comedy of 09. How about that for an introduction? This movie was a gore comedy that was overflowing with both Gore and Comedy. Believe me they did not spare any of the gruesome moments… well one, and the jokes were non stop. It was the perfect length, I dont remember any parts dragging on so the pacing was also just right. Last but not least there is a famous celebrity cameo.

I’m glad Woody H. has a new movie that is going to do well, I am sorry for Michael Cera, because I believe this role was probably made for him. If he didnt take it they told the guy playing the main role (Jessie Eisenberg) “Pretend you’re that guy from Superbad”. But I digress. Zombieland is a good group movie, date movie, mature family movie, or a hey lets see that again, 5 out of 5

July 18, 2009

Us Weekly has released the following video showing the events as they happened during the filming of a Pepsi & Michael Jackson advertisement.

iMotorboat?!

July 14, 2009

Well, since I spend a lot of time browsing the iTunes store, every now and then I come across some good products. Mostly I look for games and finance applications but today I found out about a hilarious new iPhone app called iMotorboat. This application looks like its the next iFart. The app supplies you with a beautiful bust picture to place your nose upon. You then proceed to motorboat. The coolest part is, you can use the camera feature to capture new images to use as your background. I laughed at the name and icon alone and already knew everything I needed to know about the app. I’m not reviewing it, just spreading the word. Check it out yall.

Michael Jackson R.I.P.

Gone too soon

Gone too soon

On June 25th 2009, Michael Jackson went into cardiac arrest before slipping into a coma. He was pronounced dead at 3:15 pm. This is a sad day for the entire world.

Michael Jackson is my favorite musician and I am deeply hurt to know that we are without him now. My condolences to the Jackson family, I pray for you all in a time of unmeasurable loss.

In loving memory of Michael, I will be playing my favorite Michael Jackson songs wherever I go in hopes to help people remember why he was so great. His music is timeless and will never die.

Michael Jackson Forever.

WOW: Withdrawal over Warcraft

June 22, 2009

Oh my goodness. This is disturbing and funny. A kid flips out because his mother cancels his World of Warcraft account. If this performance doesn’t keep him from getting a wife, his 2 second stint with homosexuality will definitely take him off the market for good.

I personally enjoy playing WoW and have never had a flip out over the game. It’s disturbing to know that someone out there takes the game this seriously. Or took it that seriously since he can’t play anymore. Who is to blame for something like this? I don’t think Blizzard is at fault for making a good game. Somewhere along the line, he missed out on some valuable life lessons. After I finish laughing, I am going to pray for him tonight. I am seriously worried.

iPhone 3G S Out Today!

June 19, 2009

We have your phone Mr. Bond

We have your phone Mr. Bond

At 7:00 am this morning, consumers got to purchase their iPhone 3G S. The long awaited update to the iPhone platform gives us what we have always been waiting for, text messaging with photos, videos, audios and all the other o’s that Apple forgot to put in the original iPhone and iPhone 3g. How can you make a phone without the ability to text photo’s and funny gifs to your friends? Those of you who are eligable for an upgrade are probably enjoying your sleek new iPhone 3G S right now. Many of you probably had to pay full price, but you too are in celebration of a new phone.

There are other features the new iPhone 3G S brings to the table. A better processessor, new graphics capability, faster data and internet navigation. As an iPhone game developer, I am excited to see these new features and cant wait to get a 3G S of my own. Personally I cant wait to try the audio recording feature. I love to sing and write music, so a feature like this will come in handy when I get inspired but have no way to record my idea. You know I once had to call my voicemail and leave a message to save on of my song ideas… But I digress, the iPhone has been a staple to the Apple product lineup and comparable to the success of the iPod. People have been waiting in line since thursday afternoon to get a 3G S, so lets wait and see how the Apple stock does today.

The Hangover… and all other Overhyped Movies.

June 14, 2009
The Hangover

The Hangover

I just got back from The Hangover and honestly I wasn’t all that impressed. Did the movie make me laugh? Once or twice. For the past two weeks I have been hearing nothing but good reviews on this film. I was told this was the movie of 09 and it would make me laugh harder than Borat. With my diaper in hand I went into the movie theater ready for a show.

Sadly what I was treated to was a deflated guy movie full of nonsense and “dongage”. Now to be fair in my review, the rest of the crowd was in stitches for every joke and punchline. Why was it that everyone else found this movie absolutely hilarious and even clapped at the end while I was looking at my skinnier wallet wondering why I was let down so.

To answer that question I attribute it to “Overhype”. My expectations for this movie were too high almost guarenteeing that I would be let down. Every friend and associate told me this was THE MOVIE and that I would want to see it twice… Yet all I wanted was most of my money back. Honestly the funniest part to me (and quite clever might I add) was the credits.

Overhyping is a terrible thing. It ruins the credibility of many deserving products, performances or events. For example lets say you want a hamburger and you get the best hamburger ever, you will be happy. Now lets say you are told you will be served Filet Mignon, and the chef brings you out the best hamburger ever, you will be disappointed.

So just based on the audience reaction this movie would get a 5. Based on my reaction I would give it a 3. Lets meet half way and officially rate this movie a 4.

The Most Fun Way to Break an iPhone

June 11, 2009

I came across this video today while looking for new iPhone applications and I couldn’t resist a post. iSamurai lets you and a friend duke it out samurai style and no one gets hurt. What I like about this is it shows some great enginuity on behalf of the developer. This is probably one of the most creative ways I have seen the accelerometer used. On the down side, since the iPhone has no wrist controller like the Wii, I imagine that when kids play this game the result is a broken iPhone or two.

New iPhone Game: Popple

June 10, 2009
Popple

Popple - My first published game design.

So it may be a shock to a lot of you but in my free time… I am secretly a video game developer. Ever since I was young I wanted to make video games and it’s a dream come true to be doing so now. I work at GoPlay Games, an independent iPhone game developer in Irvine, CA. Our first game Popple was just released to the iTunes App Store and we racked in 4 sales in our first 3 hours!

What’s special about Popple is that it is MY first published game. Prior to GoPlay I was working at Obsidian Entertainment on a project that wasn’t released therefore making Popple the first title applicable to my resume!

iPhone game companies are sprouting up all over in hopes of cashing in on a one hit mega wonder of a game. We at GoPlay are just trying to get noticed and build up a fan base with our games. Prosperity will come but not without loyal and repeat customers.

I would love to rate my own game, but obviously the integrity of this blog would be tarnished forever! I feel bad enough as it is just advertising it but hey, it’s part of my life, and GoPlay is my business. So with that said, if you have an iPhone and you like games like Tetris or Simon Says, I suggest you check out the game. If you do happen to buy the game please feel free to email me and let me know what you think.
